Asiya Gaildon was born in Hadaaftimo, Somalia, and raised in America. A recent Wallace Stegner Fellow in Fiction at Stanford University, she has also received support from Yaddo, MacDowell, the Miles Morland Foundation, and the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative. She completed her MFA at NYU and is represented by Bill Clegg at The Clegg Agency.
